Pastor
Ron Lewis

I am Ron Lewis, Pastor of Roper Mountain Baptist Church. I have served as pastor at Roper Mountain Baptist Church since April of 2001. I had the blessing of being raised in a Christian family and have attended church all my life. I was saved at the age of 15 and immediately surrendered myself to the Lord for full time Christian ministry.

In 1979, I began working on a Bible degree with a minor in history at Bob Jones University and graduated in 1983. I met Tracy, my wife, at Bob Jones. We married after she graduated in 1984. We taught at Ferndale Christian School in a town called North Carolina in South Carolina for several years. Tracy taught the six grade, and I taught Bible, history and economics in the high school. Then in 1993, I was called to be pastor at First Baptist Church in Harleyville, South Carolina.

Tracy home schooled our children for fifteen years. Our oldest son, Benjamin, attended Bob Jones University and graduated with a Masters degree in Church History. He and his wife, Amber and their daughter live here in Greenville. Our second son, Jonathan, graduated from Bob Jones University in 2011 with a Bible major. He and his wife, Odessa, live in Atlantic, North Carolina, where he pastors a local church. We also have twin girls who live in Greenville. Naturally, we are thankful for the children God gave to us and we are very proud of them.

We are also grateful for the opportunity to serve at Roper Mountain Baptist Church. We have a wonderful congregation. If you are looking for a church family which praises God with traditional worship and bases its faith and practice completely on the inspired, inerrant Word of God, then come visit and worship with us!
